Dow seniors
AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 425 Washington St. Bingo will be played after the meeting and bag lunch. There will be the usual raffle table. Tickets for the Halloween party on Oct. 26 will be on sale Sept. 28 for $4 each. Membership dues, $5 a year (for 2006), may be paid to Lucy Cowles, membership chairwoman, at meetings.
Sixty-eight members were present when the group met Sept. 14 under the direction of President Dorothy Larrabee. Elaine Johnson of Florida was welcomed as a guest. Those having birthdays in September were recognized.
Trip Chairwoman Evelyn Sawin reported anyone going on the Sept. 30 trip to the Weathervane in Kittery should be at the Legion Hall by 8:45 a.m. Price of the trip is $36. There are two more seats available, and for information, people may phone her at 998-4577 or Lee Koss at 783-6396.
Attendance prize winners were Leone Ford and Bernice Mushlit; pot of gold, Pat Donohue, Theresa Greenleaf and Kay Koss. At the close of the meeting and following a bag lunch, bingo was played.
Home ownership
LEWISTON – Lewiston Housing Authority Asset Building Community Program will present “Filling in the Pieces,” an informational session for learning about the Section 8 Home Ownership Program, buying or building a home, family self-sufficiency program and family development accounts.
The sessions will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29, Oct. 27 and Nov. 30, at the B Street Community Center, corner of Bates and Birch streets.

Sodality events
LEWISTON – The Rosary Sodality of St. Patrick’s Church will hold a corporate communion breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 2. The 8:30 Mass will be followed by coffee and doughnuts for members and their families.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, followed by the annual harvest supper in Monsignor Gleason Hall.
The spiritual director, the Rev. Thomas Farley, will address members. A business meeting will complete the evening.
To work degrees
LISBON FALLS – Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold a special meeting for the purpose of working degrees at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at the Ancient York Masonic Hall. Refreshments will be served following the meeting. All members of the order are welcome.
Fall bazaar
SABATTUS – The Dominican Sisters Fall Bazaar to benefit Loaves and Fishes will be held at the Dominican Convent, 61 Lisbon Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7 and 8. There will be homemade baked goods and other items. For more information, call Sister Lucille at 375-8399.
Loaves and Fishes is holding a fund-raising pizza sale. Order plain or pepperoni 14-inch pizzas for $6 each by calling Pauline Pierre at 375-4066 by Sunday, Oct. 2.
The pizzas are fresh and can be heated up or frozen. Pizza orders must be picked up on Saturday, Oct. 15, between noon and 3 p.m. at the Dominican Convent, 61 Lisbon Rd.
Guest speaker
AUBURN – The National Association of Insurance Women-Androscoggin Valley will meet Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Martindale Country Club, Beech Hill Road.
The meeting will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. and dinner at 5:45. Guest speaker will be Mike Trenholm of Central Maine Financial. His topic will be “Children Raising Parents.”
The National Association of Insurance Women (International) is an association of insurance professionals dedicated to he development of leaders in the insurance industry.

Sunday, Oct. 9, from 10 to 11:15 a.m., “The Need for Vision”; 11:15 to noon, bag lunch; noon to 12:15 p.m., music; 12:15 to 1 p.m., “What Visitors have a Right to Expect.”
