RANGELEY – Pamela Jo Ellis of Rangeley was the recipient of the Best In Show award at the WCSH6 Sidewalk Art Festival on Aug. 27, on Congress Street, Portland. “Child of Light” (watercolor, 2.5″ by 4.5″) was chosen from the best works of more than 300 artists.

“I was overwhelmed to receive this award when so many of the artists I admire are here exhibiting. This little painting? It’s such an amazing vote of confidence for my work,” said Ellis.

Ellis paints small scale and miniature paintings of children at one with their surrounding, under the sun, as well as landscapes of her western Maine scenery.

She has won many other awards from exhibits around Maine as well as from the Miniature Art Society of Florida, the Mount Washington Valley Art Society, the Cider Painters of America and the New Mexico Miniature Art Society.

Ellis is represented by the Birds of a Feather Gallery in Rangeley and the Gallery at Stony Batter in Oquossoc, as well as at the Birdsnest Gallery in Bar Harbor, the Fore Street Gallery in Portland and the Kestrel Gallery in Worcester, UK. Her works can be seen online at www.pamelajoellis.com.
