DURHAM – The Androscoggin Land Trust will hold a Durham Riverpark Wildflower Walk from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 21.
People can join local botanist and steward Mike Auger and trust board and Durham Conservation Commission member John Ackerman for an easy walk along the Durham Riverpark trail.
The park has a mix of upland and rich floodplain forest and offers views of the Androscoggin River. Those going should bring field guides, binoculars and bug dope. The walk is being held in conjunction with the Source to the Sea Canoe Trek.
The trust holds a conservation easement on the 12-acre Durham Riverpark property, which prevents future development or subdivision of the woods that comprise the park.
The trust is a nonprofit membership-driven organization dedicated to protecting, through land conservation and stewardship, the traditional landscapes, natural areas and outdoor experience in and adjacent to Androscoggin County. The trust protects more than 2,500 acres.
