LEWISTON – The Lewiston Police Athletic League made a donation to the Elliot Avenue Little League recently to help fund improvements to the Elliot Avenue baseball fields.

The Lewiston PAL donated $5,500 for the replacement of the backstop at the field and other improvements needed at the site.

PAL was organized to foster and encourage in the youth of the community a spirit of loyalty and faith in American traditions and institutions; to cultivate and improve the spirit of benevolence, friendship, sociability, good will and tolerance; and to make a positive impact on the moral and civic standards of the youth.

PAL donates funds to Lewiston area organizations that promote educational and social benefits through athletic activities under competent supervision in an effort to combat juvenile delinquency.

In a short ceremony, PAL, represented by Mike Bussiere, Carly Conley and Crystal Bourgoin, presented the check to Jim Hyde, Gary Wigant, Tucker Bowdoin and Scott Ouellette, representing the Elliot Avenue Little League.
