DIXFIELD – St. Joseph’s Parish Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the church hall on Weld Street. There will be Christmas wreaths, white elephant table, crafts, baked goods and raffles. New this year is the children’s corner, complete with a clown and face painting. The children can make gifts for their loved ones and photos with Santa will be available. Breakfast and lunch will be available.
Trip bus added
DIXFIELD – Neighborly Senior Citizens are announcing the addition of a second bus for the Dec. 8th trip to Indian Head Resort in North Lincoln, N.H. The trip includes transportation, welcome cocktail reception, deluxe luncheon buffet, floor show, dance band, gift from Santa and individual photos. All for a cost of $42. Regional contest
RUMFORD – Matt Laubauskas, son of Bob and Tracy Laubauskas of Mexico, and Christine Briggs, daughter of David and Debi Briggs of Byron, will represent the Rumford Lodge of Elks 862 and the Rumford/Mexico area in the New England championship for the Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick competition on Dec. 7 at Foxboro, Mass. Winners of this competition will have an opportunity to travel to the national competition.
Jazz competition
RUMFORD – Petra Hamilton-Denison, a member of the Mountain Valley High School band and chorus, has been accepted to the 2004 Maine Music Educators Association All State Jazz Festival. The event will be held Jan. 8 to 10 at Lewiston High School. She is a senior.
