AUBURN – Local Modern Woodmen of America camp members joined to help to the Auburn Public Library.
With the help of Modern Woodmen’s National Matching Fund program, members from Auburn raised funds through a golf tournament.
The Sept. 25 event raised $2,500. With $2,500 matched by Modern Woodmen, the camp donated $5,000.
Modern Woodmen members from Auburn are part of a nationwide network of camps (chapters) that annually reach out to people and programs in their communities with various fund-raising activities.
“In appreciation for camp member’s hard work, our organization’s home office matches funds raised up to $2,500 on approved projects,” said Deborah Wagemann, Modern Woodmen camp secretary.
Based in Rock Island, Ill., the fraternal life insurance society’s Auburn camp provides a number of volunteer serve and social activities for local members. Modern Woodmen is on the Web at www.modern-woodmen.org.
