WELD – Present and former postal employees gathered recently to observe the anniversary of the Weld Post Office’s 175 years in the community.
To commemorate the event, the Weld Historical Society has had 100 sets of envelopes printed, stamped and postmarked for sale at a cost of $3 a set to the public on a first-come-first-serve basis.
A complimentary set was given to each of the employees who were present as well as a framed envelope to the current owners of each of the three buildings on the envelope. The three envelopes have pictures of the T.W. Wyman Building (The Weld General Store), the Henry G. Swett building (the Village Variety), and the Gertie Trask building (the Gore Building) along with the new post office building.

Among those attending were: Almon Winter, Juanita Vining, Harry Fish, Diane Hague, Polly Winter, Sue Storer, Eleanor Fish, Chris Cochran and Phyllis Peru.
Those unable to be at the celebration included Ernest Hutchinson, Hollis Tyler, Peggy Wade, Jerry Nering, Jack Kaubris, Dexter “Buzz” Bridges and Donna Schofield.
