BRIDGTON – Paul Hoyt squeaked ahead of a competitor by four votes Tuesday to win a selectman’s seat.
Hoyt was elected to a three-year term with 308 votes over Kenneth Towne, who had 304. Incumbent Robert Bell was re-elected with 470 votes.
Also running were William Dyer, who had 162 votes, and Brian Spear, who had 121 votes.
In a separate race, Douglas Taft defeated incumbent Robert McHatton, 517-340, for a one-year selectman’s seat. Wayne Warner had 98 votes in that race.
Also Tuesday, voters approved amending the site plan review ordinance 463-405, amending the ordinance to control disorderly houses 613-286, and enacting the ordinance for the adoption of an international building code 502-388.
Voters rejected two amendments to the shoreland zoning ordinance, 450-416 and 458-393, and also rejected the mooring regulations harbor master safety ordinance, 530-403.
