BUCKFIELD – Students at Buckfield Junior-Senior High School spent all day Tuesday searching through books trying to identify the characters their teachers represented. The teachers had quotes on their costumes to give clues.
Teacher Diane Nye said students were given forms to fill out to define the literary character a certain teacher represented. The literacy activity exposed students to many books.
Characters represented included: Daisy from “The Great Gatsby,” Marilla from “Anne of Green Gables,” Seymour of “Little Shop of Horrors,” Esther from the Bible, Miss Havisham of “Great Expectations,” Fern from “Charlotte’s Web,” Huck Finn from “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” Hester Prin from “The Scarlet Letter,” Neddy Compton from “Girl in Blue,” Jacob Marley from “A Christmas Carol,” the three witches from “Macbeth,” Dan Allen from his original play “Come as You Aren’t,” Things from the “Cat in the Hat” and James Herriott from “All Things Large and Small.”
