All four were taken to the Oxford County Jail and were later released on bail.
PARIS – Police arrested four people after fighting erupted Sunday evening at 3 Pine Ridge Road.
Charged with assault were Joseph Denbow, 38, and Tammy Duff, 29, who live at the home owned by Margaret Sprague, 56. The home is located in a subdivision off the Paris Hill Road.
Sprague was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction, according to Paris Police Sgt. Michael Dailey.
Fred Henderson, 36, of West Paris was also arrested at the home and charged with violating his probation.
All four were taken to the Oxford County Jail and were later released on bail, a jail official said Monday. A July 12 date was set for initial appearances on the charges in 11th District Court in South Paris.
State Trooper Kyle Tilsley said Denbow was sought for questioning earlier in the day by State Trooper Angela Wills for an alleged altercation in Otisfield.
Denbow had a prior warrant out in Cumberland County on habitual offender charges, and may be charged with violating the conditions of his release by the Oxford County District’s Attorney office, Dailey said.
Dailey said Paris officer Ray Parr responded to a report of a fight in progress at Sprague’s home. When he arrived, Parr saw Denbow and Sprague’s ex-husband, Robert Sprague, 47, of Main Street, Norway, yelling outside the house.
Dailey said Parr witnessed Denbow striking Sprague with his fist. Parr called for backup, and was assisted by Tilsley, along with at least three other policemen from Norway and Oxford.
From the porch area, Margaret Sprague, meanwhile, was allegedly screaming at Duff to leave the house. Police witnessed Duff allegedly hitting Sprague.
“Definitely alcohol was a factor with virtually all the people,” Dailey said.
