OTISFIELD – Selectmen put together a list Wednesday night of the roads slated to be striped if voters approve an article in a special town meeting later this month.
“We need to make up a list of the roads to bring to town meeting,” Selectman Gerald Robinson said. “We all know someone will ask which roads will be striped.”
Selectman Assistant Marianne Izzo-Morin and Road Commissioner Richard Bean Sr. wrote the list. They noted the roads have to be town-owned and must be wide enough to stripe. The roads are: Powhattan, F. Edwards, Gore, Bow Street to West Andrews Hill, to the church on Bell Hill, to the transfer station on Oak Hill and to Bill Poole’s property on Rayville Road.
During the special town meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Community Hall, voters will decide whether to spend $3,000 on striping roads.
In other business, Izzo-Morin reminded residents the SAD 17 referendum is Tuesday, June 10. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the town office.
Swim lesson sign-ups for a three-week Red Cross program are 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at the town office. The cost is $5 per child and it is open to children of all ages. The lessons are from 8 to 10 a.m. weekdays, June 30 to July 2, and July 7-22, at the town beach on Pleasant Lake. Lessons are scheduled rain or shine but are canceled for thunder storms.
