MEXICO – The following incidents were handled by the Mexico Police Department.
Arrests
• Ryan Berry, 21, Dix Avenue, Mexico, domestic assault, 12:09 p.m., April 26, at Dix Avenue. He was released from the Mexico Police Department on $1,000 unsecured bail. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on June 2.
• Sara Roberts, 30, Middle Avenue, Mexico, obstructing the report of a crime or injury, 11:22 p.m., April 15, at Middle Avenue. She was released from the Mexico Police Department on $300 unsecured bail. She is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on May 5.
Vandalism
A Roxbury Road resident reported the destruction of his mailbox at 8:37 a.m. April 20. Police had arrested Thomas Mowat, 47, Roxbury Road, the night before on a charge of operating under the influence. He was taken to the Oxford County Jail. He was later summoned on a charge of criminal mischief related the to mailbox. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Aug. 4.
Accident
A 1992 Buick sedan driven by Bobby R. Trotter, 50, Main Street, Mexico, sustained $3,000 damage at 11 p.m. April 21, when it hit a guardrail as Trotter was traveling west on the River Road. Trotter was taken to Rumford Hospital where he was treated and released. A passenger, Joan M. Trotter, 42, Main Street, Mexico, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center where she was treated and released a day or two later, Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said. Bobby Trotter was summoned for operating under the influence. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on July 7. Further charges may be pending, said Hodsdon.
Burglaries
A Howard Street resident reported at 9:30 a.m. April 24 that someone had entered his home the night before and took narcotic prescription medication valued at about $100. Police have no leads.
A Main Street resident reported at 12:13 p.m. April 23 that someone had entered her home that morning and took a variety of narcotic prescription medicines valued at $620. Police have no leads.
A Riverside Park resident reported at 10:55 a.m. that someone had entered his residence sometime between April 17 and April 24 and took a coffee table valued at about $200.
Personnel at Generations, a fitness business in the Mexico Recreation building, reported at 8:21 a.m. April 22 that someone broke into the gym through a window and took an undisclosed amount of cash. Police have no leads.
Thefts
A Harlow Hill resident reported at 11:08 a.m. April 27 that a watch valued at $500 was taken from his porch. The watch was later retrieved from a Congress Street, Rumford, secondhand store. Richard Leblanc, 65, Backkingdom Road, Mexico, was charged with the theft. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Aug. 4.
A Leavitt Street resident reported at 9:12 p.m. April 22, the theft of a child’s riding cart valued at $200 from her driveway. Police have no leads.
Vandalism
A Peru resident reported at 12:30 p.m. April 20 that someone scratched her vehicle as it was parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot causing $500 damage.
A Dixfield resident reported at 12:12 a.m. April 19 that someone slashed two tires on her vehicle as it was parked on Middle Avenue, causing $250 damage.
