RUMFORD – A large amount of prescription drugs and a diamond ring valued at $240 were reportedly taken from a Maine Avenue residence during a burglar March 31.
At 7:30 p.m. that day, officer Daniel Garbarini responded to a resident who returned home to discover that both her kitchen and bedroom had been ransacked, said shift Sgt. Tracey Higley.
The burglary and theft occurred between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m., he said.
“The suspect gained entry and rummaged through some drawers, but nothing was reported missing at that time,” Higley said. Further scrutiny revealed that about 10 different prescription drugs and the ring were missing.
