FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) – It may be several weeks before authorities learn what caused the death of a Fairfield University student over the weekend.

An autopsy on Alejandro Carrion, 20, of Miami, was inconclusive pending further tests, a spokeswoman for the state medical examiner’s office said Sunday. She said results are expected in six to eight weeks.

Police do not suspect foul play and say the death appears to be medical related.

Police say Carrion’s roommate discovered his body at about 11 a.m. Friday and called 911.

University security officers performed CPR on Carrion as firefighters arrived, but he was unresponsive.

Carrion was a politics major and was active in the College Republicans and the school’s Pep Band, according to the university.
