NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) – A 14-year-old boy died from a stab wound to the chest early Sunday morning in New Bedford, according to police.

A 911 call came in to police at about 5:15 a.m. reporting a body in the hallway of a building on Purchase Street, police said.

Police found the teenager bleeding from the chest. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Police withheld the victim’s name until relatives could be notified.

No arrests were made as of midday Sunday, and the stabbing remained under investigation, said New Bedford Police Lt. Richard M. Spirlet.
