DURHAM – Black ice was blamed for a single-vehicle accident on Royalsborough Road, Route 136, early Friday night, Sgt. Rielly Bryant of the Androscoggin Sheriff’s Department said.
Adolph Galonski, 51, of Durham, was driving north, rounding a curve near 1515 Royalsborough Road, when his car skidded on black ice and spun around in the roadway into the southbound lane where it rolled over onto the passenger side, Bryant said.
Galonski escaped apparent injury. Damage to his 2002 Suzuki Vitara was estimated at between $3,500 and $4,000 in the 6:09 p.m. crash, Bryant said.
