Childhood trauma discussion at Lifetree
LEWISTON — How to heal from childhood trauma will be discussed at Lifetree Cafe at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 1919 Lisbon St.
The program is titled Overcoming Childhood Pain: Facing Unresolved Family Issues. It will feature a filmed interview with Delisa Mayer, a woman whose family took part in an ill-fated university study during her childhood.
The outcome of that study, which introduced a newborn chimpanzee into the family and asked them to raise it as a human child, shaped Mayer’s childhood and led to her parents’ divorce. Mayer said,“Our family was very torn up by this. It was a hard thing to live through, and it’s one of the reasons I don’t often tell this story.”
During the program, participants will discover key steps to help recover from the scars of past experiences.

Lisbon Parks & Rec to offer ski lessons
LISBON — Lisbon Parks & Rec is partnering with Lost Valley to offer ski and snowboard lessons to children ages 7 and older. This is a six-week package and will take place at 6 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 7 to Feb. 11, 2019.
Lisbon Parks & Rec will provide transportation. Sign ups are through Lost Valley at lostvalleyski.com/Lisbon.html.
