AUBURN – Auburn Suburban Little League 9- and 10-year-old baseball all-stars notched two victories to begin the District 5 tournament this week.

ASLL dispatched South Lewiston, 10-0. Alex Thompson, Gavin Bates, Ryan Kappelmann, Jacob Dubuc, Ethan Brown and Timmy Torres had hits for Auburn. Garrett Poussard slapped South Lewiston’s lone hit. Ryan Kapnelmann and Jacob Dubuc combined for the one-hitter over four innings.

In Game 2, ASLL beat Dirigo Little League, 12–4. A total team effort on offense generated eight hits, including four doubles, and 10 walks. Bates, Thompson and Kappelmann shared pitching duties and held Dirigo to four hits over six innings.
