LEWISTON – Elliot Ave. Little League 9-10 all-stars swept its four games to win the District 5 tournament and will participate in the state tournament beginning today in Hermon.

Strong pitching by Brock Belanger and Mitchel Frisbie and a relentless attack with the bats highlighted a 34-4 win over New Auburn. Belanger led the way with five hits. Frisbie, Dalton Wing and Evan Cox were multiple hitters.

Elliot next topped Hall-Dale, 11-3. Wing was stellar as the starting pitcher. Belanger closed it out. Jared Rubin had three hits. Grant Hartley and Caleb Hebert also made key offensive contributions.

In a hard-fought semifinal, Elliot topped Auburn Suburban, 4-2. Wing and Belanger teamed up to silence the Auburn bats. Defense was pivotal with contributions from Ryan Bosse, Kaleb Morrissette, Sean O’Donnell and Jalen Allison. Belanger and Ben Chasse fueled the offense with aggressive base running.

Elliot edged Dirigo LL in the championship, 5-3. Wing and Belanger again took the hill for Elliot. Timely hitting by Hartley and Joe Bisson helped the cause. Frisbie and Rubin delivered defensive gems.
