LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen voted Tuesday to put a property at 112 Leeds Road up for bid for a minimum of $15,000.

The town foreclosed on the 3.8-acre parcel in the East Livermore area last year for unpaid taxes.

The property has a well and a septic system, Town Manager Stephen Gould said, but he did not know if they are in good condition.

There is a two-car garage that appears to be sound but needs repairs, and a mobile home that is being emptied, he said.

“There is a lot of interest in the property,” Gould said. “We won’t accept any bids under $15,000.”

Voters approved an article on the June 2018 annual town meeting warrant to explore the possibility of building a fire station in the East Livermore area, but five months later rejected spending $10,000 for an environmental assessment to see if the Leeds Road property was suitable for a station.

In other matters, selectmen voted to allow Gould to pursue getting a burned-out home at 100 Main St. declared a dangerous building under state law. The designation would allow the town to have the house torn down, Gould said.

One person died in the June 2018 fire, which forced two boys to jump from the third floor.

The house was not insured.

Gould said telephone calls and a registered letter to the owner, Percy Tassie of Rhode Island, have not been answered.
