Mexico middle school students show school spirit by decorating doors with drug awareness messages
River Valley Rising employees and members of the Rumford and Mexico police department judged doors decorated by students with messages to stay drug free on Friday at Mountain Valley Middle School during National Red Ribbon Week.
Sixth-grader Alessandra Williams knocks on the decorated door of her classroom at Mountain Valley Middle School in Mexico on Friday during Red Ribbon Week, a national drug prevention awareness campaign. Behind her are, from left, Melissa Harding and Allie Burke, both of River Valley Rising, Mexico Police Chief Roy Hodsdon and Rumford police Sgt. Doug Maifeld, who judged classroom doors displaying messages about staying drug free. River Valley Rising and the two police departments teamed up to support students participating in the campaign.
