LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center will offer a free workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers titled “Food for Life: Eating well for Cancer Survivorship.”
The four-part workshop will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 22 to Dec. 13, at CMMC, 12 High St., conference room I.
The sessions are as follows:
Nov. 22: Fueling up on low-fat foods and favoring fiber.
Nov. 29: Discovering dairy alternatives and planning healthy meals.
Dec. 6: Replacing meat and enhancing antioxidants and phytochemicals.
Dec. 13: Immune boosting foods and maintaining a healthy weight.
The series will be presented by Cathi DiCoco, who has 25 years experience in culinary instruction, and sponsored by The Cancer Project, which advances cancer prevention and survival through nutrition, education and research.
