Chris Calise of Cape Elizabeth relives how he shot an eight-point, 194-pound buck with a bow on Thursday morning. Calise shot the deer in an expanded archery zone in Cape Elizabeth at 7:15 a.m. Thursday and delivered the deer to Sabattus Deer Processing in Sabattus before 10 a.m.
Mike Averill of Alna brought in the 500th deer to be processed at Sabattus Deer Processing in Sabattus since the start of Maine deer season. Averill shot the seven-point buck Wednesday and brought the deer to be processed Thursday.

Business owner, Nancy Provost, said that the the business is only taking deer on a reservation system only because so many deer have been brought in. "We can only do so much with the limited number of people," said Provost.
