    Gary LaBonte bales hay Thursday on his farm in Sabattus. LaBonte said this particular crop of hay, his second of the summer, is a "nice second crop." LaBonte was hoping to put the job off until Friday, but the hay was dry and the weather was too nice to wait. "When hay is dry, you bale it," LaBonte said.

    Michael Ellingwood works on his 1946 Dodge street rod at his home in Auburn on Thursday. The retired heavy equipment operator said it hasn't been the best summer for organized cruise nights because of the COVID-19 pandemic, hot weather and vehicles with no air conditioning and big motors that generate a lot of heat. The Dodge has a 360-cubic-inch AMC motor and cost $940 when new.
