Kalle Oakes ranks the cream of the crop in honor of the prestigious short-track race’s 50th edition on Sunday.

The Turner native and longtime driver is playing a major role in this year’s milestone event as a sponsor and beyond.

Recapping the 21st through 30th editions, which were highlighted by Ralph Nason’s three consecutive victories and the first set of father-son winners.

Mike Rowe kicked off the second decade by becoming the first winner from Maine.

He was a fan for the first one, front-row starter for his lone successful qualifying attempt as a driver, and has been the steward of the spotlight event for more than a decade.
