RUMFORD – A Bryant Pond man escaped serious injury early Saturday morning after his truck rolled over off South Rumford Road, police said.

Louis J. Sicotte, 47, was later summoned by officer Paul Casey on a charge of operating under the influence.

According to Casey, Sicotte was traveling west in a 1983 Ford pickup on the South Rumford Road at 1:15 a.m. when “he failed to slow down and negotiate a sharp left curve.

“The vehicle traveled over an embankment and rolled over, about two times, coming to rest on the driver’s side,” Casey said.

Sicotte’s totaled truck sustained an estimated $1,500 damage.
