1906 – 2003
AUBURN – Lelia Field Grant, 96 a former resident of River Road, Greene, died Monday morning, June 16, at Schooner Estates in the Sasseville Unit where she was a resident for three years.
She was born June 26, 1906, in Auburn, the daughter of Ernest Everett and Annie Maria Stevens Field. She received her education in Greene and Auburn. She married Elmer Everett Grant in Farmington on March 18, 1932. He died in 1964.
She and Elmer owned and operated Doc Grant’s Restaurant in Rangeley for many years. In 1972, following the death of her husband, she moved to Greene. She was a member of the Greene Senior Citizens, attended the Greene Baptist Church, enjoyed knitting, gardening and canning.
She is survived by nieces, nephew, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Charles Grant in 1935; two sisters, Eleanor Blaisdell of Townsend, Mont., and Miriam Moulton; and three brothers, Orland Field, Frances Field, and William Field.
