LEWISTON – Lewiston Senior Citizens have organized a trip, “Spirit of Boston,” on Friday, June 27, leaving the Multi-Purpose Center at 8 a.m. It will include transportation, admission to the Spirit of Boston cruise featuring a lobster buffet and entertainment.
After the cruise the group will visit Quincy Market and return to Lewiston. Three spaces are available. If interested call 784-2926 and ask for the seniors office.
A trip is planned to Old Orchard Beach on Friday, July 25, and the Beacon Hill Resort for the Christmas lunch and show on Sunday, Dec. 7. Bert Dutil is trip organizer.
Shaker workshop
NEW GLOUCESTER – A lavender workshop will be held at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26, on Saturday, July 19. The cost is $25. Preregistration is required. Museum open
POLAND SPRING – The Maine State Building Museum and Nettie Ricker Art Gallery are open for the season. Tours and educational programs are offered. The third-floor art gallery features the work of numerous artists, with a new exhibit each month. The hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to noon Sunday. Bridge winners
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on June 17 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; second, Mike Quinn and Luke Merry; third, Jeanine Kivus and Fred Letourneau; fourth, Marta Clements and Joann Morris.
Flight B winners were: first, Joann Morris and Marta Clements; second, Helen Little and Nick Karamessinis. Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 24. A partner is guaranteed.
The club also met on June 18t at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: first, Fred Letourneau and Sherry Hinckley; second, Luke Merry and Paul Barber; third, Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Anna Vitiello and Lucille Theriault; fifth, Bill Adams and Jim Flanagan.
