1924 – 2003

LEWISTON – Lucille A. Drouin, 78, a resident of 188 Lane Road, Auburn, died peacefully Saturday afternoon at Central Maine Medical Center with her family by her side after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Dec. 22, 1924, the daughter of Ernest and Alberta Pelletier Anctil. She attended local schools, and was a graduate of Jordan School and Bliss College.

In her earlier years, she was employed in the local shoe industry and also at the Androscoggin Mill.

She married Robert Drouin, Sept. 20, 1947, and for 55 years have shown their family a great deal of commitment to one another especially the enjoyment of celebrating family events, caring for neighbors as well as their children and grandchildren.

She was a great cook which complimented her hospitality, and was an avid letter writer corresponding to her out of town family members.

She was a member of St. Louis Church, the Ladies of St. Anne, and St. Louis Senior Citizens. She was also an avid bowler and roller skater.

Survivors include her husband, Robert C. Drouin of Auburn; one daughter, Suzanne and her husband Raymond Remillard of Lewiston; one son, Gerard Drouin and his fiancé Maddy St. Claire of Auburn; two brothers, Robert Anctil of Lewiston, and Bert and his wife Lucy Anctil of Hermet, Calf.; one sister, Connie Doyon of Lewiston; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Grace Anctil of Auburn; four godchildren, Joanne Cathcart of Durham, N.H., Roger Sargent of Farmington, N.H., Robert Drouin of Dover, N.H., and Elizabeth Cantin of Lewiston.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Tina and her husband Jeffrey Anctil of Lewiston, Tammy and her husband Thomas Marshall of Lake Worth, Fla., and Ben Drouin and his fiancé Laura Ladin of Skowhegan; three step great-grandchildren, Justin, Ryan, and Chrissy Marshall.
