AUBURN – Brad Edwards of Auburn will be the featured soloist at the annual Penley Corner Church service to be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13.

Edwards will sing, among other selections, “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” the favorite hymn of Hazel Penley Grant.

Edwards is a sixth-grade teacher at Walton Elementary School. His wife, Barbara, teaches at the Webster Elementary School. They attend the United Methodist Church in Auburn.

The Rev. David Borger will conduct the service. Others taking part will be Norma Rice-Gould, organist; Maurice and Charles Penley, ushers; Elaine Penley Ordway, guest book; and Elizabeth Vickery, programs.

The church, built in 1833 on land given by Capt. John Penley, is on Route 136.

All are invited to the homestead of Charles Sylvester, located across the road, for fellowship and refreshments after the service.
