Shawn Ricker and Brian Wigant combined for a two-hit shutout, striking out nine. Matt Bouchard hed four hits for the winners, including two doubles, while John Colon slapped two singles. Luke Cote and Jacob Lapierre delivered the hits for Lighting … Lighting logged a 705 win over Caron. Devin Long and Luke Cote combined for seven strikeouts, Cote cracked a three-run double, Brian Hall added two singles and an RBI, while Cody Chapman and Matt Therrien slugged two hits apiece.

Senior division: Rainbow Bicycles swept Gee & Bee 11-5 and 12-9 in recent action.

Travis Dyke picked up a pitching victory with help from Keenan White, who struck out the final four batters in relief. Nathan Parker also notched a mound win. In the second triumph, Matt Cournoyer had three singles and two RBIs, while Kyle Dussault connected for two singles. Dyke, Dana Banks and Ben Grenier each added a base hit. Mike Fontaine clouted a bases-loaded triple for Gee & Bee, while Kenny Roy, Eric Hebert, Pete Ouellette and Alex Pare each had a hit … Dyke and White each stroked two hits in the opening win, scoring three runs apiece. Dussault had a single and sacrifice, while Grenier doubled and scored a run. Erik Waite led Gee & Bee with two singles and three RBIs.

Pepsi took two from Portland North, 9-4 and 13-3.

Nathan Gruz and Nick Langlais each pitched a complete game win. Gruz allowed only four hits in his victory, while Langlais chalked up 10 strikeouts.

Shane Morin, Langlais and Gruz each had three hits in the first win, while Brian Ricker, Zack Timmeyer and Shane Morin aided the cause with three hits each in the second conquest.

Oxford Hills Softball

MINOT-Minot-Hebron rolled to a 20-2 victory over Buckfield in Oxford Hills softball action. M-H was paced by Kristen Simpson’s first-inning triple and a pair of singles by Laura Szczesny. Kasey Farrington homered for Buckfield. Tori Hricko picked up the win in the five-inning contest, giving up two hits while striking out 11 and walking only one.

The annual Oxford Hills Summer Softball all-star games are being held in Minot on Saturday. Game times are 2 p.m. (farm team 8-to-10-year-olds), 5 p.m. (Little League, 11-13) and 8 p.m. (senior division, 14-18). These games showcase the best players from teams in Minot, Poland, Mechanic Falls, Hebron, Oxford, Buckfield, Paris, West Paris and surrounding communities. The Oxford Hills league is the feeder program for several local high school teams.
