NORWAY – Selectman Chairman William Damon has called for a special meeting Thursday to finish the evaluation of Town Manager David Holt.

Selectmen started the evaluation at the July 24 meeting but did not finish.

“One of the selectmen was not able to attend the last meeting and I want to get all the selectmen together to do the review,” Damon said. “When sitting down with all five selectmen you’ll get a whole different picture than if we went in one at a time and talked to Dave.

“When evaluating, you want to discuss it and look the person right in the eye,” he said. “When you get five people together, you discuss how he does things and there could be differences of opinion.”

Holt has been town manager in Norway for 14 years.

The special meeting is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The selectmen plan to hold the evaluation in executive session, meaning the public cannot attend.
