1919 – 2003

AUBURN – Kenneth H. Sabine, 84, of 440 Minot Ave., Auburn and formerly of 1211 Sabattus St., Country Lane Estates, died Friday evening Aug. 1, at Clover Health Care following a long illness.

He was born in Greenville on Jan. 3, 1919, the son of Henry and Mae Wyman Sabine. He was a resident of this community all of his life.

He married Alphena Dubois on Nov. 9, 1940, who died March 10, 1982.

He joined the United States Navy during World War II, from 1943 to 1946. He was awarded a World War II Victory Medal, the American Theatre Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal.

He was employed for 26 years at Lipman Poultry until his retirement in 1980.

Mr. Sabine was a real handyman, enjoying welding and carpentry. He was known to be a “jack of all trades.”

He is survived by one daughter, Diane Therrien and her husband Larry of Lewiston; one son, Steven Sabine of Lewiston; one sister, Ruby Bradbury and her husband Edwin of Auburn; one brother, Dana Sabine and his wife Darell of South Carolina; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one son, Richard Sabine; and one sister, Pearl Bickford.
