1916 – 2003

FARMINGTON – Thursia M. Jackson, 86, of Weld and Jay, died peacefully Saturday evening, Aug. 2, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington with her family by her side.

She was born Aug. 6, 1916, in Weld, a daughter of Elmer and Flora Scribner White. She received her education in Weld schools.

On Oct. 8, 1930, she married Erwin C. Jackson at the Beans Corner Church in Jay. He died Jan. 13, 1989.

Mrs. Jackson worked for many years at Livermore Shoe and later retired from Bass Shoe in Wilton.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting making afghans for all of her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoying history and biographies.

She is survived by one daughter, Priscilla Marquis and her husband Robert of Chesterville; three sons, Clifford and his wife Phyllis of Weld, Donald and his wife Joan of Jay, and Daniel of Chesterville; a brother, Elijah White of Carthage; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two daughters, Elizabeth Wacome and Flora Jackson; five brothers, Erwin, Reed, Coolidge, Alfred, and Hershel White; two sisters, Verna Noyes and Annabelle Gordon; four grandchildren Ashley and Robin Flagg, and Jay and Sherry Jackson.
