LOVELL – People will be meeting at the historic Brick Church in Lovell Village at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15th to discuss the church’s future.

The members and officers of the church’s owner, the Lovell United Church of Christ, have decided that they can no longer support and maintain the Brick Church and have decided they must turn the ownership over to others.

The Lovell church trustees have set Oct. 1 for a group to be brought together to create an organization. If that requirement is met to the trustees’ satisfaction, the organization would have until April 1, to become incorporated as a nonprofit, to which the church could transfer the ownership of the Brick Church.

There is a limited amount of time in which to accomplish the work that must be done, according to the meeting’s organizers. Therefore, this meeting is extremely important.

Members of the church’s Board of Trustees will be present to answer questions, as will people involved in the preliminary planning for future and continued use of the Brick Church in the community.

Anyone who is interested in seeing this project move forward should plan to attend Monday’s meeting, organizers said. For more information, people can contact Roberta Chandler at 925-2792.
