MEXICO – The resignation of the building trades educational technician and appointment of a new truck driving education technician are on the agenda for the Region 9 board Tuesday.

The meeting of directors of the Region 9 School of Applied Technology begins at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room of the River Road school.

Clifton Thurston has submitted his resignation as an education technician for the building trades. That makes two programs without education technicians. The region is still looking for an education technician for the forestry program.

Daryl Baker will be appointed as an education technician for the truck driving program, under instructor Ed Naples.

In other matters, the board will decide whether to authorize Director Deborah Guimont to submit applications for the Maine Department of Education’s revolving loan fund.

Tentative plans call for pursuit of borrowing up to $100,000, under priority one funding, that would be used for installation of an elevator and other school improvements. A later application would be submitted for funds that would provide additional classroom space.
