DETROIT (AP) – Dominik Hasek stopped 20 shots and Tomas Holmstrom had two goals and an assist as the Detroit Red Wings shut out the Boston Bruins 9-0 in a preseason game Wednesday night.

Brendan Shanahan, Jiri Hudler, Jiri Fischer, Steve Yzerman, Kirk Maltby, Mark Mowers and Mathieu Schneider also scored for Detroit. Henrik Zetterberg added three assists.

Detroit led 3-0 after the first period. Shanahan opened the scoring at 2:07 as the Red Wings held a two-man advantage. Holmstrom scored at even strength at 11:06 and Hudler connected for a power-play goal at 13:09.

as Detroit once again had a 5-on-3 advantage.

Felix Potvin stopped 23 of 30 shots for Boston and Andrew Raycroft allowed one goal on 19 shots.
