WILTON – District 6, Maine Federation of Women’s Clubs, will hold a fall meeting and luncheon at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Boiler Room Restaurant.
District 6 Co-Presidents Barbara Hathaway and Anne Frary invite all members of the Livermore Falls Women’s Club, Tyngtown, Waterville Woman’s Club and Wiltona to attend.
The theme is “Angels Unaware.” Guest speakers will be Katherine White, Maine Federation of Woman Clubs president; Sally Manchester, president-elect; and Gloria Leveillee, membership chairwoman. Door prizes and certificates will be presented after the luncheon.
District 6 includes seven clubs that participate in volunteering in their communities and providing educational programs. Programs are open to the public and new members are welcome.
The clubs are members of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs with headquarters in Washington, D.C. Women are encouraged to improve their skills, expand their rights and be concerned for their communities.
The motto, “Unity in Diversity,” binds the clubs and allows them to develop their own programs and projects, with opportunities for personal growth and enrichment through leadership training and development.
The national federation helped establish 75 percent of America’s public libraries, crusade for seat belts and initiated a Safety for Older American Program.
