POLAND – Poland artists Katherine Rohnert and Gene Fuller won awards at the “Fall in the Village” art show in Freeport. The show was organized by the Freeport Merchants Association and attracted more than 100 area artists.
Rohnert’s painting, “Taking Flight,” was judged “best in show.” She has displayed her work at shows throughout Maine, Massachusetts and Virginia for the past several years, including a recent show at the Western Maine Art Group Cooperative in Norway.
Fuller, art director for the Poland Spring Preservation Society, received an honorable mention for his work.
Other work by Rohnert and Fuller is on display at the Nettie Ricker Art Gallery in the Maine State Building in Poland Spring, operated by the Poland Spring Preservation Society.
