1921 – 2003

LEWISTON – Bernadette L. Mathon, 82, of 282 Lisbon St., died Monday, Dec. 29, at Central Maine Medical Center after a long illness.

She was born in Disraeli, Quebec, Canada, April 15, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Adiana Leblond Laflamme. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married Feb. 3, 1940, to Ernest J. Mathon.

She was employed as a spinner at the Continental Mill and the Bates Mill and later worked in shoe shops retiring in 1979.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish and enjoyed crocheting, reading, writing and bingo.

She is survived by her husband of Lewiston; a daughter, Rita StPierre of Greene; two sons, Paul Raymond Mathon and wife Marie Ange of Auburn and Roger Armand Mathon and wife Carmen of Lewiston; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
