1932 – 2004

NORWAY – Eugene L. Rich II, 71, of Norway went to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 25, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Essex, Vt., on Nov. 20, 1932, the son of Captain Eugene L. and Doris Johnson Rich. In his younger years he was a part-time police officer for the Town of Norway and was a member of the volunteer fire department in Norway.

He had been a cutting room foreman and supervisor at Melville Shoe Corp. for many years. After his retirement he was a finish carpenter.

He was a member of the Oxford Lodge 18 in Norway and the Kora Temple Shrine. He participated in minstral shows in his youth. He was an avid hunter, he got his deer this year.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He married Joyce LaChance on May 8, 1953.

He is survived by his wife of Norway; a son, Karl of Paris; a daughter, Kendra and her life partner, William Bradford of Norway; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph and his wife Nancy of Norway; a sister, Donna Langevin of Seattle, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Leilani, Judith and Geraldine; and a brother, Clifford.
