1923 – 2004

SACO – Rita Blanche Regis, 80, of Letellier Lane, Arundel, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Evergreen Manor following a brief illness with cancer.

Born in Lewiston, Nov. 15, 1923, the daughter of Pierre and Blanche Chenard Bosse, she was educated in Lewiston schools.

On June 14, 1947, she married Roland E. Regis at St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston.

He died on Sept. 1, 1986.

Mrs. Regis worked 44 years with Bates Mfg. Co. in Lewiston, Pepperell Mfg. Co. and Biddeford Textile Corp., retiring in 1985.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and the Daughters of Isabella, the Pastime Club in Lewiston and the Voltigeur Club of Biddeford. She served as past president of Dames Rochambeau, past vice president of the Maine Snowshoe Committee, past governor of the American Snowshoe Union and past international governor of the Fraternal Snowshoe Committee. She loved to sing, party and she wrote the words to the La Kermesse Anthem.

Survivors include four sons, Paul F. Regis of Biddeford, Ronald R. Regis of Old Orchard Beach, Richard R. Regis of Arundel and James L. Regis of Old Orchard Beach; two brothers, Robert Bosse of Auburn and Roland Bosse of Lewiston; three sisters, Pauline Beaudoin of Lewiston, Claudette Annonce of Mechanic Falls and Blanche Landry of Auburn; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
