STOCKTON SPRINGS (AP) – A $2 million fire that destroyed a condominium development under construction along Penobscot Bay was deliberately set, investigators said Friday.
The two buildings housing eight condo units were nearing completion and were not yet occupied, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the state Department of Public Safety.
There were no reports of injury.
Firefighters arrived during the night at the site on the South Dock Road in the Cape Jellison section to find one building engulfed in flames and a second on fire.
