FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington will present a three-day Holocaust Remembrance program titled, UMF Remembers: The Holocaust, on March 23, 24 and 25. The events are free and the public is invited. All of the Holocaust Remembrance events will take place in the Latte Landing, located on the bottom floor of UMF’s Olsen’s Student Center.

The schedule includes:

• Tuesday, March 23, 6:30 p.m., Linda Voss, a teacher at the Winslow Junior High School and a recognized local expert on the Holocaust, will speak.

• Wednesday, March 24, 7 p.m., two videos about the Holocaust will be shown. Afterward, a guided discussion will be held, providing an opportunity for the audience to ask questions and share their feelings.

• Thursday, March 25, 7 p.m., Charles Rotmil will discuss his experiences as a Holocaust survivor.

Throughout the three days, March 23-25, an exhibit titled, Soul Survivors: Legacy of the Holocaust, will be on display in the Latte Landing. The exhibit is provided by the Holocaust Human Rights Center of Maine.

The UMF Holocaust Remembrance program is sponsored by the UMF Program Board, with support from the UMF Student Life Office. The UMF Program Board strives to provide a diverse program of cultural, social, educational and recreational activities for the UMF community.
