TURNER – Think spring and join a class sponsored by SAD 52 Adult and Community Education during April.

Microsoft Access: Learn how to use the power of Microsoft’s Access database at the introductory level in a six-week class beginning Thursday, April 1, at Leavitt Area High School. Design a simple business database from the ground up while learning the concepts of storing, retrieving and filtering specific information.

Lesson plans will provide participants with the skills necessary to work with tables, forms and reports. Richard Foisy will show the class how to work smarter by putting their own filing system to use.

CPR for Friends and Family: It is a short overview of CPR for the new mom, grandparent or a teen baby-sitter, with instructor Deirdre Cameron, The one-night class will be held Monday, April 5, at the Adult Learning Complex.

Driver Education with Karen’s Driving School: The third series of driver education classes will begin Monday, April 5. Students must be 15 on the first day of class. There will be 30 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of driving. To register, call 783-7483.

American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED: Participants will learn adult CPR and be introduced to the automated external defibrillator on Monday, April 5, at Leavitt. It is a good class for beginner or those needing a refresher. Successful completion of the exam will result in Red Cross certification.

Word Processing: The five-week class will begin Thursday, April 8, in the Leavitt computer lab. If interested in learning how to create letters, address labels and recording family history, this is the class. Carol Ham will show how to cut, paste, bold, copy, save and use other features of word processing.

Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Screenings: Through the program offered by St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, individuals will be able to learn more about their health and receive feedback. The screening will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at Leavitt. There is no charge but pre-registration is required.

American Red Cross Infant/Child CPR: An infant/child CPR class on Monday, April 12, at Leavitt will include recognizing emergencies, care of multiple victims, common illnesses/injuries and maintaining a safe working area. Successful completion of the exam will result in Red Cross certification.

American Red Cross First Aid: Learn how to provide basic care for those in need in the class to be held Monday, April 26, at Leavitt. Items covered include sudden illness, wounds, bone/joint/muscular injuries and weather-related injuries. Successful completion of the exam will result in Red Cross certification.

Scrapbooking for Beginners: For those interested in preserving memories on Tuesday, April 27, at Greene Central School. Step-by-step instructions from Kelly Cormier plus supplies to create a 12-by-12-inch scrapbook page.

Gardens: Get them Ready: Learn simple tips from master gardener Barbara Stewart on Thursday, April 29, at Adult Learning Complex.
