The Maine Rock Gym’s top of the line mobile rock climbing wall will be one of the featured attractions at the Sportsmen’s & Outdoor Recreation Show.

It is set up on a 28′ flatbed trailer in ten minutes with the use of an internal hydraulic system. Their climbing wall has bolted holds and inlayed features to provide grips for hands and feet.

The wall has four exciting and challenging climbing routes of easy to moderate difficulty geared to the first time and novice climbers.

A safety rope is attached to the climber’s harness and then passes up the wall over a secure anchor at the top.

The free end of the rope then comes back down to one of our trained instructors called a belayer, who pulls the slacking rope through a friction device.

If the climber falls, the friction device allows the belayer to easily arrest the fall. This top rope protection system provides an extremely safe climbing experience.

The Maine Rock Gym is located in Portland at 127 Marginal Way.

It is a specially designed and highly controlled area that allows people of all ages to safely experience the sport of rock climbing and to take it to what ever level they desire.

Indoor climbing is a great thrill and challenge for all ages and abilities! In addition to being just plain fun, the gym provides an excellent place to increase self-esteem, develop team building, communication and problem solving skills.

Whatever your climbing goal, the Maine Rock Gym can get you there. So come to the show and try out the mobile wall to see what you’ve been missing or to test your skills. You’ll be glad you did.
