WEST PERU – George and Anita Litalien of West Peru were honored on Sept. 29 with a 50th anniversary celebration. The couple was surprised with a special dinner, which was held at the Madison Inn in Rumford.
The event was hosted by their two sons and their spouses, Dennis and Valerie of Lisbon Falls and Danny and Melissa of Peru.
Their grandchildren are Cammy, Erica, Vanessa and Brandon, and their great-grandchildren are Tyler and Arianna and they attended the event, which made the evening special.
Original wedding attendants present were Roland Litalien, his brother, who was best man, and Patricia Cote Mercier, maid of honor.
The couple was also surprised by the attendance of all their siblings and their spouses, along with their close friends.
Mr. Litalien and the former Anita Chaisson were married on Oct. 3, 1953, at St. Theresa Church in Mexico.
He is retired from Boise-Cascade, after having worked there 40 years and she was a homemaker.
