WELLS – Max Levine picked up his third win of the season as Poland exploded for 19 runs to hand Wells a 19-5 pasting in WMC baseball action Friday.

The Knights pounded out 21 hits in the lopsided victory as Levine, Tyler Merchant, and Alex Smith each drilled three safeties.

Nate Morse and Ryan Walker each hit a pair of singles to pace the Warriors’ attack.

Lawrence 3, Leavitt 0

FAIRFIELD – Ryan Ackley connected for a three-run blast in the fourth inning, providing Lawrence with all the offense they would need to down Leavitt 3-0 Friday afternoon.

Ackley’s homer came with no outs in the bottom of the fourth inning after Tim Lee led off the inning with a single and Rick Flynn reached on an error. Garret Parker picked up his third win of the season for the Bulldogs, going seven innings, allowing three hits and striking out three.

Brandon Smith went the distance for Leavitt, allowing just four hits including Ackley’s blast. Brain Metayer led the offense for the Hornets with two hits, a double and a single.

Mountain Valley 6, Mt. Abram 2

SALEM – Koery Staires belted a solo home run in the second inning to carry Mountain Valley to a 6-2 victory over Mt. Abram in MVC baseball action Friday.

Dick Cote and Staires each had two hits for the Falcons. Frank Hayes hit a triple and then Mike Adams singled him in for Mt. Abram (5-4).

Madison 9, Jay 3

JAY – Randy McMullen provided some star power, striking out seven and delivering three hits, including two home runs, to lead Madison to a 9-3 win over Jay in MVC baseball action Friday.

McMullen knocked in a run with a double, tallied a total of four RBIs and crossed the plate four times for the Bulldogs (3-5). Adam Hvaro and Matt Stewart chipped in with a pair of hits each for Madison.

The Tigers (6-2) responded to a three-run first inning from Madison by retrieving a run in the first and a pair in the third, but were shut down over the final four as McMullen allowed just four hits and four walks for the victory.

Buckfield 5, Valley 4

BUCKFIELD – Billy Sullivan knocked in Harry Hayes for the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Buckfield slipped past Valley 5-4.

Valley’s (3-2) Tyler Giberson hit a three-run double in the second which gave it the lead at that point. Chris Savage hit a triple and struck out seven in four innings work for Buckfield (4-2).

Oxford Hills 18, Waterville 4

WATERVILLE – Oxford Hills scored seven times in the top of the third inning, effectively putting the game out of reach as the Vikings (10-1) handed Waterville an 18-4 setback in KVAC baseball action.

Matt McDonnell went six innings, allowing six hits before giving way to Corey Saunders in the sixth inning to register the mound victory.

Chris Henderson blasted a home run, Corey Tielinen added a triple while Rob McVetty, and Joe Baker chipped in with a double each.

Anthony Jabar paced the Panthers attack with a home run and triple.

Oak Hill 12, Camden Hills 2

CAMDEN – Adam Shaffstall had four hits and two doubles to carry Oak Hill to a 12-2 win over Camden Hills Friday.

Kyle Peats and Nate Burke each had two hits for the Windjammers (3-5). Oak Hill exploded for eight runs in the sixth inning.

Lacrosse

Lewiston 12, St. Dom’s 2

LEWISTON – Brothers Jon and Ben Fournier scored four goals each and Billy Brooks made 12 saves to lead Lewiston to a 12-2 win over St. Dom’s in the third annual Morgan McDuffee Memorial lacrosse game played at McDuffee Field at Bates College.

Zach Sheltra had six assists for the Blue Blue Devils (7-1). Matt Parker picked up two goals while Brian Shaw and Bobby Labbe each scored one.

Kevin LaPlante scored both goals for the Saints (1-4), and Brandon Dyer made 17 saves.

Brooks picked up the McDuffee Award as the game’s MVP, joining teammate Ben Fournier and Caleb Eulitt of St. Dom’s as recipients of the award, which is named after former Bates College player Morgan McDuffee.

McDuffee was killed in March of 2002, and the two teams have played the memorial game in each of the last three seasons.

Lewiston now has a 2-1 edge overall.
