FARMINGTON -The Bellamy Jazz Band, voted “Maine’s Most Popular Band” three consecutive years, will perform Friday, May 14, in Nordica Auditorium on the University of Maine campus.

The Bellamy Jazz Band, which has been together for 26 years, plays a loose jammin’ Chicago-style jazz ranging from Preservation Hall to swing, jazz ballads, dance-hall tunes and just a hint of rock ‘n’ roll.

Members of the band are Dana Fisher on cornet, trumpet and fluglehorn; Frank Vigneau on keyboard; Bill “Mr. T” Thurston on drums; Dave Debree, tenor and vocals; Bill Manduca on hard-driving trombone and vocals; Pete Lord on soprano sax and tenor sax; and Peter Dunphy on banjo and tenor guitar and vocals.

This will be the sixth time the band has played in Farmington over the last 15 years.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and $2 for children 12 and under. No advance sales. For more information, call 645-2157.
