FARMINGTON – A public hearing Tuesday on SAD 9’s proposed $21.6 million spending plan for school operations and adult education drew few residents.

When acting Chairman Francis Orcutt asked if there were any questions, no one replied.

The hearing was closed within minutes.

SAD 9 directors have proposed a $21.3 million fiscal 2005 school budget. That reflects a $95,809 increase, less than a half of 1 percent over the existing budget.

A proposed $351,567 adult education budget, with the district’s share to raise $76,600, reflects a $1,409 decrease in local share.

Residents in each of the nine towns making up the district will have a chance to vote on the budgets during an all-day referendum vote Tuesday, June 8.

The projected assessment proposed for each town is as follows:

• Chesterville – $574,594 for general fund, $4,941 for adult education. An increase of $28,156 over existing assessment.

• Farmington – $3.4 million for general fund, $29,486 for adult education. An increase of $77,103 over this year’s assessment.

• Industry – $625,469 for general fund, $5,379 for adult education. An increase of $56,636 over existing assessment.

• New Sharon – $603,323 for general fund, $5,189 adult education. An increase of $27,512 over existing assessment.

• New Vineyard – $476,434 for general fund, $4,097 adult education. An increase of $19,866 over this year’s assessment.

• Temple – $287,895 for general fund, $2,476 for adult education. An increase of $12,059 over existing assessment.

• Vienna – $393,237 for general fund, $3,382 for adult education. An increase of $13,709 over 2003-04 assessment.

• Weld – $624,272 for general fund, $5,369 for adult education. An increase of $45,864 over this year’s assessment.

• Wilton – $1.89 million for general fund, $16,281 for adult education. An increase of $63,084 over existing assessment.
